BOR, 06 July 2012 [Gurtong] – Chairperson of the State Peace Committee Abraham Makur Duot who presented a report during an outreach programme in the state capital Bor said the government will stop the movement of communities from the rural areas to urban centres by providing better facilities in the areas.

“If some facilities like roads, schools, clinics and water points are constructed, there will be no migration of local communities from Payams to urban centers”, said Duot.

He said these in response to demands by the local community for the establishment of better facilities in the villages.

“Most of the roads in the area were constructed in 1986 and they have not been repaired to date”, said Sub-Chief, Aguek Nuer Ngueny.

The youth acknowledged that the peace conference was important in bringing peace between the Murle and Bor youth.
