TORIT, 24 August 2012 [Gurtong] – Speaking on the occasion of South Sudan’s Veterans Day in Torit, the president urged the Sudanese citizens in the country to stay safe in their work as the new nation still values their stay in South Sudan.

“We need our fellow brother and sisters from Sudan to stay safe. We don’t need anybody to face insecurity or to cause insecurity to the country. We are concerned about welfare for everyone in the country regardless of country of origin,” he said.

He said that security is everyone’s responsibility and urged the citizens to report those suspected of plotting harmful acts in the country.

Kiir said that he is not happy with the insecurity incidences that have been reported and urged the perpetrators to stop such behaviours.
