Juba-07.November 2012 (Gurtong)- A Sudanese delegation led by the Minister of Defense, Abdel Rahim Mohamed Hussein on Monday arrived in Juba for a meeting with its South Sudanese counterparts.

The two teams on Tuesday are expected to start discussing the Joint Political and Security arrangements following the signing of the cooperation agreement on 27th/08/2012 between the two countries.

The Minister of Interior, Gen. Alision Monani Magaya, his deputy and the Deputy Defense Minister were among those who received the delegation at Juba International Airport where they spoke to Journalists.

Magaya welcomed them for the meeting on behalf of the Defense Minister. “We are going to discuss on the implementation of security and border agreements”.

The agreement provides for the creation of buffer zone so that the two countries do not go into the contested areas.

Juba and Khartoum had been trading allegations on security related issues including supporting rebels on either side. The creation of the buffer zone is expected to put an end to these allegations.

The agreement also provides for creation of corridor and immigrations in both countries.
