SPLM Officials in Yambio for a Consultative Workshop

A high level Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) delegation from Juba has arrived in Yambio to conduct a consultative workshop with its members to take their views on the SPLM constitution, manifesto, internal regulations and code of conduct.

YAMBIO, 17 November 2012 [Gurtong] - Speaking to during the gathering, the team leader Pascal Bandindi said that the purpose of their visit to Western Equatoria State is to call upon all SPLM key members from the counties to hear the views from the grassroots.

Bandindi added that, the delegation has gone to all the ten states of South Sudan on the same mission.

The SPLM national secretary for social welfare and services, Norah Zangabeyo, said that South Sudanese fought for peace liberty and time has come for SPLM members to come and add their views for what can be beneficial to them.

The state deputy Chairperson of SPLM Bukulu Edward urged the SPLM cadres to turn up in big numbers for the exercise because it is the only way to strengthen the party.

 Speaking during opening of the workshop, Governor Joseph Bakosoro said SPLM as party should enhance peace in the country as stipulated in the manifesto. 

The governor cautioned the participants to create awareness to government to know the core values of the SPLM manifesto.

Zangabeyo said it is very vital as a new country to put all things in order as the party needs to meet all the expectation of the people of south Sudan.

She said this is the begging for SPLM to prove to the world that it can govern the country to accomplish the mission, vision and objectives of the party.
