(BRIDGE) Program

Reports to : Operations Manager

Winrock International urgently seeks a qualified, committed, Sudanese Logistics and Travel Officer for the Building Responsibility of Delivery of Government Services (BRIDGE) Program which will provide multi-sectoral activities in Northern Bahr El Ghazal, Unity and Warrap States.

Position Summary:
The Logistics & Travel Officer will be responsible for managing and coordinating travel for BRDIGE staffs within Southern Sudan, including WFP and commercial flights, movement, hotels, food, administration, registration and vehicles.

Major Responsibilities:
The Logistics & Travel Officer, in coordination with the Team Leaders and field Logistics officers, will also provide direct and indirect support to conferences and training occurring throughout Southern Sudan. This includes implementing, monitoring and following up across all of the above areas to ensure that Winrock’s polices and best practices are adhered to. The role will provide leadership, technical support and capacity building to the expatriate and local staff in all areas of their roles.

  • Support the Operation Manager to implement and update Winrock travel manifest and policies.
  • Receives, process, submit and track the entire travel request for travel within Southern Sudan by any means.
  • Ensure that approved travel requests are submitted in advance.
  • Ensure that needs of staff before, during and after travel are arranged for to include per-diem, land transport/ airport transfers coordinate with Team Leaders, Juba’s Finance office, coordinate with Nairobi office, welcome packets, equipment and other items as appropriate.
    Draft and implement vehicle usage plans daily, working with Head Driver on assignments.
  • Provide direct support to program staff in planning/ implementing events in Juba or in the field.
  •  Write daily and weekly reports on travel and disseminate as required.
  • Provide input on logistics matters to BRIDGE Management for proposal and report writing.
  • Identify areas of improvement in the organization of logistics and work with BRIDGE management and local logistics team to realize them.

Other responsibilities:

  • Perform other duties on an as-needed basis as assigned.
  • Work closely with field logistics offices and the Juba Logistics Officer – Procurement

Job Requirements
Qualifications
  • Degree/Diploma in Business Administration or its equivalent is preferable
  • Completion of secondary school is a requirement

Experience and Competences

  • A minimum of three years demonstrated experience in fleet management, travel planning, particularly working with WFP / UNHAS is an added advantage.
  • Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic
  • Skilled user of MS Office and Excel
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, detail oriented environment with minimal supervision
